Hi, I'm Maria, an educational advocate!
I’ve been an advocate with Advocate to Educate since 2025.
I am a wife and mother of a vibrant daughter, and for over 25 years, I have dedicated myself to working with students with disabilities and their families. My mother, the most profound influence in my life, inspired this journey. Watching her courageously navigate the challenges of reading and writing due to significant hearing loss ignited a fire within me—a passion to advocate for and empower individuals with disabilities. I have dedicated myself to this mission, working hands-on in the field and stepping into leadership roles across K-12 and post-secondary settings, breaking down barriers to access and opportunity.
In every role I’ve taken on, I’ve had the honor of training and mentoring new educators, instilling in them service delivery models rooted in equity, inclusion, and compassion. As a bilingual provider, I am deeply committed to uplifting diverse student populations, ensuring their voices are heard, and fighting for their right to an equitable education. I am commitment to creating a world where every individual, regardless of ability, can thrive and shine.
