Choice 2: Drop-In Advocacy

Drop-In Services

Do you know your child’s case pretty well? Do you understand the IEP related timelines and know what to expect next? Do you feel confident at the IEP table, but every so often you want a second set of expert eyes, on an assessment, an IEP, or an amendment, or you have a list of questions that need answers? With drop in, you stay the lead with the school team. We won’t be tracking your IEP-related requests, tasks, deadlines behind the scenes, or be cc’d on emails with the school team; that’s what Membership is for, but we’ll step into any part of the journey you want us in. Book time, tell us what you want to cover, and we work through it with you in real time.

Hourly services start at $300 per hour

* Non-members with urgent needs can access emergency support.

💚 Most Popular
Choice 3: Membership

Ongoing Membership With Advocate to Educate

Most families reach out after an intense IEP meeting, a phone call with the principal that left them feeling cornered, discovering that services were not provided, or realizing their child’s progress has stalled. By then, parents are overwhelmed—and their child may have already lost valuable time.

Even excellent schools operate under staffing shortages, heavy caseloads, limited funding, and district directives. Caring educators may not always have the authority—or feel permitted—to raise every concern or offer every option at the IEP table. Decisions made behind the scenes can shape what is discussed, even when individual team members genuinely want to help. Add frequent staff turnover, and your child’s history, progress, and unresolved concerns can easily become fragmented, lost, or misunderstood. This is why your family needs a consistent, independent expert in the conversation.

Our Ongoing Advocacy Membership gives your family something the school system cannot guarantee: a consistent expert advocate who knows your child, stays ahead of important school processes, and works beside you year after year—from preschool through high school.

Instead of searching for help after a problem arises, you already have someone who knows the history, understands what is at stake, and is ready to act.

Your annual membership fee of $1,200 secures your place with our team, continuity with your dedicated advocate, and priority access to support. Hands-on advocacy services are tailored to your family’s priorities and billed in addition to the membership fee, starting at $300 per hour.

Membership Advantages
Hands-On Advocacy, billed hourly/$300 hr & up

* Rush start available at emergency rate for new members who need immediate support.

Your Path, Step by Step

Membership: What Happens After Our 20 Minute Call?

01

Step 1

Full-Service White-Glove Onboarding with Advocate To Educate's Team

Paperwork can be a very stressful aspect of your child’s IEP process. Most of the time, parents don’t want to think about where the signed paperwork is located or how to get that over to us! We make it as easy as possible, helping you get everything in order or providing services to gather the needed information on your behalf. Our dedicated office manager has not only been in your shoes as a parent of a child with an IEP; but being a military family moving often, she had to stay highly organized for her own child. She will help you get set up in our system step by step.

02

Step 2

Your Dedicated Advocate will Get In Touch With You to get started

Advocate To Educate will start by matching you to one of our wonderful Advocates. We do not take this job lightly, as we know how important a good match really is.

03

Step 3

We get to know the Case and Your Family

Before we say a word about strategy, we read your case files and the forms you have filled out for us to align with your family. We meet your child, because we’re showing up for a person, not a file. Then we sit with you and show you exactly what we see: what’s working, what’s missing, and what we’re going to do about it.

04

Step 4

We Start Our Process with You and The School Team

We don’t wait for the next IEP meeting to start working. From day one, we’re identifying gaps, monitoring what’s being delivered, and building a strategy that gets ahead of problems, not just responds to them. The earlier we can intervene, the better the outcome. That’s not a slogan. It’s how child development works.

05

Step 5

You Will Never Walk Into a Meeting Alone Again

Annual reviews. Amendments. Eligibility meetings. Re-evaluations. BIPs. Some families have ten or more IEP-related meetings in a single school year. We are at every one you want us to be at, virtual or in person.

Before every meeting, we prep with you, so you know exactly what to expect and what we’re pushing for. In the room, we ask the questions that move things forward. We catch what sounds right but isn’t. We speak to instruction, methodology, and services, not just legal procedure.

And here’s something most families don’t realize: the shifts happen quickly. With us by your side, administration knows we are paying attention to the little things most parents do not realize are really important and changes start to take place.

06

Step 6

We Stay Long-Term, as IEPs are not one-and-done!

Your child is still becoming who they’re going to be. What they get now shapes what’s possible later. That’s why we believe in getting in early and staying in, not showing up when things are already broken.

Between meetings, we’re monitoring whether services are being delivered, reviewing progress reports, and preparing for what comes next. We keep our caseload small by design, because you deserve an advocate who knows your child’s name, interests, and history, not a case number. We truly love our clients like family.

We think of ourselves as the third leg of the tripod: your child, your family, and us, all three working together toward the same goal. We lead with your child’s strengths. We address the hard things head-on. And we’re already watching for what comes next so you can be parents and we can be your personal IEP guide.

Drop-In: How a Session Works

01

Step 1

Book Your Session

Purchase a prepaid bank of hours and book directly. No membership required. Choose the time that works for you based on our openings. That’s it.

02

Step 2

Send Your Agenda Ahead of Time

Before the session, email us what you want to focus on: a document to review, a question you’re stuck on, a situation you’re trying to navigate. You set the agenda and lead the meeting, and we advise.

03

Step 3

Come Ready to Work

We advise in real time during the session. You bring the context, we bring the expertise. We work through your questions together. No fluff, no recap of things you already know.

04

Step 4

Leave With a Clear Next Step

You finish the session knowing what to do, what to ask for, and what your options are. Need more time? Book another session. Ready for more support? You can move to full Membership at any time. Standard onboarding takes 5–10 days.

The Educate Library: Getting Started

01

Step 1

02

Step 2

Download What You Need

Purchase individual resources or a bundle. No membership required. Use them to prep for a meeting, draft a letter, or understand exactly what the district is legally required to do.

03

Step 3

Put It to Work

Take what you’ve learned into your next conversation with the school. These resources are designed to help you ask the right questions, and recognize when the answers you’re getting aren’t good enough.

04

Need More Support?

If the library isn’t enough, Drop-In sessions and full Membership are both available. Start where you are and step up when you’re ready. You don’t have to start over. We pick up where you left off.

Why Advocate to Educate

What Makes Us Different

Here’s what actually sets us apart.

Educational Expertise at the Meeting

We don’t just know the law — we know what good instruction looks like. We speak to services, goals, placement, and methodology in real time. That’s expertise most families have never had in the room with them.

We Work With Attorneys — When That’s What’s Needed

When it’s time to bring in an attorney, we know who to call — and we hand them an organized, documented case that reduces their billable hours.

We Stay the Whole Year

Full-Service membership means we’re not just there for the IEP meeting. We’re monitoring implementation, catching problems early, and adjusting the strategy all year long.

We Teach You as We Go

The more you understand, the harder it is to be caught off guard. We explain every step as we go.

Confidential & Professional

Everything stays between us. Strict confidentiality, always.

What Families Ask Us

Straight answers — no jargon, no runaround.

What's the difference between Full-Service and Drop-In?

Full-Service means we lead: file review, strategy, every meeting, all year. Drop-In is parent-directed: you book time, tell us what you want to cover, and we advise in real time. Members have us advise on and manage all past and upcoming requests, monitor student progress, and plan for times when progress is not what we expect.

Do I need to be a member to work with your advocates?

No. Drop-In services are available without a membership. Just purchase a prepaid bank of hours and book with an advocate who can work with you when you need support.

What if I need to get started right away as a member or for drop-in services?

Rush onboarding is available if you need to get started within 10 days. For Drop-In clients, rush services are also available. Just let us know when you reach out.

Do you work with attorneys?

Yes, with our membership clients, we work alongside trusted attorneys when the situation calls for it. Our goal is to start with creative, student-centered solutions that work for the family and the district. We ask, we advocate, and if the answer is still no, we know exactly who to call. When we do bring in legal support, the family walks in with an organized, well-documented case. Most of the time we divide and concur with our trusted attorneys, as we believe we each have our scope of practice that is needed per specific situation.

What if my child's situation changes mid-year and I have paid for membership in advance?

We adjust as your child's needs evolve; our refund policies are listed in our letter of engagement you will sign when becoming a client with terms and conditions.

Do you serve families outside California?

Our expertise is the educational system in California. If you're outside California, we'd be upfront about where our knowledge ends and where you'd need local support.

I already have an IEP in place. Is it too late to get an advocate?

Never too late. Most families come to us mid-year, after a difficult meeting, services not being delivered, or an escalating situation. We can step in at any point. Drop-In is a good starting point for a second opinion. Full-Service Membership is for families who want us to take over on their behalf and lead alongside them to get through a rough patch, or just when life gets overwhelming and you need a professional to take over.

What's in the Self-Serve resource library?

PDF guides, templates, and checklists written specifically for California families: things like how to read an IEP, what to say in a meeting, how to request an assessment, and what timelines the district is legally required to follow. It's a good starting point if you want to understand the process before booking time with us. Some families use it to get over the hump on their own. Others use it alongside Drop-In sessions.

What Changes When You Have Someone Who Knows the System

Having rights on paper handed to you at the start of a meeting isn’t enough. No one reads their rights, and when they do, they get even more confused. Think of us as your walking/talking parent-rights brochure, not afraid to speak up in real time when it counts for what your child needs.

Without an Advocate

With Advocate to Educate

Educational Expertise

Expert Eyes on What’s Actually Being Offered. Your child’s IEP can be legal on paper and still fall short. We know the difference between compliance and quality, and help craft the student’s IEP accordingly.

Educational Expertise

We speak to services, goals, placement, and methodology, not just legal procedure. We know what should be in that IEP, and we hold teams accountable for delivering it.

After the IEP is signed

Once the IEP is signed, most families hope the services start, and proceed correctly. That’s a lot to hope for on your own.

After the IEP is signed

With Full-Service membership, we are watching all year, monitoring whether services are being delivered, catching gaps early, and adjusting strategy before small issues become big fights.

At the Meeting

Without an independent voice in the room, the meeting moves at the district’s pace and covers what the district wants to cover. You may not know what wasn’t said.

At the Meeting

Every meeting we attend comes with preparation, a clear agenda, and a plan for what we are walking out with, and what we’re watching for next.
